2.6 Symbol For different type of securities, Fortex uses different prefix to identify their symbols. Stock – no prefix, such as MSFT, GE, etc. Options – “+” prefix. For example, to quote a particular MSFT option in the Quote window, use “+MSQAT”. The prefix is not necessary in the Options Order Entry form. Futures – “/” prefix. For example, to quote a particular index future in the Quote window, use “/ESZ6”. The prefix is not necessary in the Futures Order Entry form. Currency – no prefix, such as AUD/JPY, EUR/USD, etc. (Figure 2.6)
